Buku Ajar Kesehatan Reproduksi berbasis kompetensi ini disiapkan dalam rangka transformasi pengetahuan agar kompetensi sebagai bidan profesional yang diharapkan dapat terwujud. Perubahan konsep kurikulum berbasis kompetensi salah satunya merupakan transformasi dari pembelajaran yang berpusat pada dosen (teacher centered learning) menjadi pembelajaran yang berpusat pada mahasiswa ( student centered learning). Trasformasi ini menekankan bagaimana cara mahasiswa dapat belajardengan menggunakan berbagai materi pelajaran, problem based learning, dan skill competency.
